Here it is, a brand new year. What a fun way to usher in the new year, with good friends. We spent New Years Eve with our good friends, Steve and Jackie, in Melbourne. We had dinner at Squid Lips, then went to the Tiki Bar at the Cocoa Beach Pier. The blue moon was beautiful and sitting at the end of the pier, waves rushing around us, was a great way to end 2009.
Just a few more days and it's time to head back to school. I'm ready, but I won't deny that I enjoy sleeping in and following a haphazard schedule. I think that would grow old if I did it every day. I'll be anxious to see my students and hear about that break.
My Drama Club will be performing their play at the end of January, so there is much to do to get ready for that. Hopefully they all memorized their lines over break. We have blocked the show and are moving it onto the stage next week. The stage crew need to make a list of props and finish the set design, then it's figure out costumes for 30 some kids. It's always fun, albeit a little hectic. The kids never disappoint and put their heart and soul into the production. I love it!
I am looking ahead to Spring Break, not because I want to be out of school again, but because I am thinking about heading to Toledo for a few days. I want to spend time with Dad when I can, and that's a good time.
Kind of sleepy today, as it's still raining and just the kind of weather that calls you to curl up with a good book, movie, or just a nap.
Happy 2010!!
